Gabriel Simpson '25 Recruiting Profile

I am a 17 year old defenseman. Some of my strongest skills are my skating and shooting. I am strong and responsible in the defensive zone and will lead the rush when the opportunity presents itself.

I am commited to play Division 1 hockey at Lindenwood University starting in 2026.

I am playing my 2024-2025 season with the Rockets Hockey Club (NCDC). I played for the Team Illinois 16U AAA team for the 2023-2024 season. I played my 15U season for Mount St. Charles Hockey Academy and attended school there for the 2022-2023 season. I played the 2021-2022 season for the Colorado Thunderbirds 14U AAA hockey team. I have played for several different associations since I was young. I started out playing for the DU Jr. Pioneers playing as a 8U at the age of 7. I then moved to Evolution Elite Hockey Academy where I played for 3 years through 10U. I then played for Rocky Mountain Roughriders at 12U for 2 years before making the change to the Thunderbirds. I played for both the 13U and 14U Thunderbird teams in the 2020-2022 seasons.

Playing AAA hockey has allowed me to play against some of the best players in the US at my age. It has also allowed me to travel and see new places and visit my extended family.

I enjoy playing soccer, swimming and playing piano when not playing hockey.

I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to play hockey in the USHL, then for a Division 1 University, and possibly the NHL.
