I have been playing the great sport of hockey since I was five years old. Many relatives in my family have played the game, so hockey has been in my life for a long time. I have two younger brothers that are always pushing me to do my best. Both of them give me motivation to succeed as an individual. My brothers always look up to me and I am very honoured that they think of me as one of their romodels. My mom owns a Pilates studio and has done some great things to benefit the health of others. I have learned so many important lessons from my parents about hard work, respect, and commitment. I believe I can put those life lessons and great habits towards my schooling and the game of hockey. My collegiate goals for when I graduate high school are to receive a scholarship so I will not have to pay for my education. I think being able to use my academics/athletics to pay for my education is a big advantage and I would like to use those skills in my favour. I believe I am a good candidate for college teams because of my academic excellence and my ability as a player. Not only am I focused on hockey, but I also aspire to make a positive impact off the ice. I think that is what makes me unique; I realize that hockey is not the only thing I need to focus on. I plan to make hockey a major part of my future but it also teaches me many lessons I will need in my life. Every year I seem to improve in my athletics; getting stronger, faster, and smarter on the ice. Academically, I am focused and work hard every day, which is why I have an overall average of 90% throughout my years of high school. These are many of the reasons why I believe I would be an ideal candidate for an American college.
