Lucas Ochitwa '19 Recruiting Profile

    My goal - to be a part of a great school and a great team where goals are set high. I would like to be a part of a program that challenges me both on and off the ice. 

     There is always something new to learn in hockey, you can always skate faster or shoot harder.  It is a lot like school, you have to put in the work to get positive results. I also think it is important to be volunteer in the community that supports your team. 

    I was fortunate enough to play with the Swift Current Legionnaires in the SMAAAHL  for my 3 midget years. In my 3rd year in Swift Current, I was voted Captain by my teammates and received the “Player’s Choice Award”. This last 2019-2020 season, I played Junior A with the Melfort Mustangs of the SJHL. During my rookie year I received the award for “Community Volunteer”.

     During my off season, I enjoy keeping busy playing fastball, swimming, and working out.  

    My future goal is to attend a NCAA college that allows me to obtain a degree in business or kinesiology.  To be able to continue to play hockey at the highest level possible while completing my education is my goal.
