Mikhail Saratovtsev '24 Recruiting Profile

My near term goal is to continue developing as a goalie and playing a leadership role on a team within a sport that I have grown to love. I hope to play hockey at the collegiate level following high school. What makes me a good candidate for the team that I will play for is my willingness to learn and get better.  I am willing to compete with other goalies and always strive to get better. 

What makes me different from other athletes is that I am a great locker room guy who always tries to keep the room light but knows when to take it serious. I also understand the role I play as goalie when I am both in the net or on the bench.    I recognize that I must mentally be prepared to play in any game, maintain a mental focus and balance during the game, control what I can control, and offer encouragement to my teammates given the unique perspective I have on the ice being in the net.  I have always lived in areas where hockey isn't very prominent; this has led me to play with even more drive as I have had to work harder to set myself apart from other athletes to get noticed.
