My goal is to play college hockey and see where I can go from there. My primary position is defense, but I'll play forward and even goalie if that's what my team needs to be successful. I've been playing in a small association for the past several years. Overall, it has been a good experience, but it has its challenges, too. I played up both my first year of Squirt and Bantam. With the limited number of players, we get a lot of ice time. There were several games during my first year in Bantam when we only had six skaters. I can remember one game where I was only off the ice once during a 15 minute period. I've had to learn to play differently; sometimes conserving my energy and other times taking advantage of a situation.
I take pride in playing hard and doing whatever it takes to help my team win. I get as much satisfaction assisting on a teammate's goal or blocking shots as I do if I'm fortunate enough to score. I believe you play as you practice, so I give 100% every time I'm on the ice.
My family billeted for the Madison Capitols of the USHL for 5 years, so I was able to learn a lot from the players that lived with us. We would go to most of their games. This helped me better understand the game and appreciate the commitment the players made to get to that level of hockey.
I love the game of hockey and want to play it as long as I can.
