Personal Statement
My name is Ryan Hipsag and I am a 18 year old forward from Gillette WY. I played for the Gillette Wild during the 2022-23 season. My main goal is to play professional hockey, and my career path beyond hockey is to become a Nurse Anesthetist or Anesthesiologist. 14 years ago I started playing club hockey as a mite with the Gillette Wild program (Now the Gillette Grizzlies). I played my freshman year on the Varsity team with the Wild. My Sophomore Season(2020-2021) I transitioned to a more competitive program playing Varsity for the Rushmore Thunder in Rapid City, SD. I have played on multiple travel hockey teams in the past six seasons with Team Wyoming, Western Wranglers AAA (Rapid City, SD), Rocky Mountain Raptors, and the Wyoming Cutthroats.
I want to play the highest level of college hockey that my ability, and academic endeavors will allow. My work ethic on and off the ice, as well as in the classroom is what I feel sets me apart. I have an intense desire to be the best player on the ice, and to continually grow my skill and game. Currently I have been working on my skating and skill on and off the ice. Summer workouts include intensive conditioning and strength training 6 days per week, and dryland skill training 1-2 hours every day. Off season skating and skill camps, and skating at every drop -in round out the off season.
