I am in my freshman year at Terry Fox Secondary in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. I will be graduating Terry Fox in the year 2020 but I will am also interested in re-classing to the year of 2021 (as my birthday is in late December, 2002). My current G.P.A is 4.0 and I am registered in all of the academic honours courses offered for my grade level. I am currently 15 years old, and stand 6'1" and weigh 160 lbs. I am also a multi sport athlete playing quarterback for my junior varsity football team, and point guard for my junior varsity basketball team.
I currently play left handed attack on the U15 Tier One Coquitlam Adanacs, and we recently just won the 3D Lacrosse College Bound Series in Scottsdale, Arizona, January 7-8 2017. The tournament was such an experience for me, I can't tell you how much I have taken away from the tournament. I wear number 20 for the Coquitlam Adanacs.
Becoming an NCAA athlete has been a lifelong dream for me. My father, Steve Charboneau, (University of Alaska- Fairbanks ’88) played NCAA Div. 1 hockey. Along with my father, I have been inspired by many people who have impacted my growth as a lacrosse player; Josh Byrne, a close family friend (Hofstra ’17) and Ryland Rees (Stony Brook ’19), a mentor and a student athlete who played for my dad have made a gigantic impact on my lacrosse career. In addition, I have been fortunate to be coached by Challen Rogers (Stony Brook ’16/ Toronto Rock) I have been around the game of lacrosse all my life and I can’t tell you how fortunate I feel to have met so many people who have made an impact on not just my potential lacrosse career, but also my life. Lacrosse has already provided me so many opportunities to learn, to travel, and to grow. This is why I am writing to you, to make my dream of playing NCAA lacrosse a reality.
