Matthew Rutland '20 Recruiting Profile

I would like to further my education at a medium to large University with a goal of achieving a degree in  Computer Engineering.  I would also like to further my training while in school to receive my pilot's license.  I have started that process this year locally and will continue during school.  I am an athletic 17 year old who has played multiple sports growing up.  I have played Football, Basketball and Lacrosse in high school so far.

I am now completing my 3rd year of playing Lacrosse I have made major strides in learning the game and have become very comfortable being a starter on both my High School team as well as a travel club team during Summer and Fall seasons.  I have strong stick skills using both hands and have quick feet. I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.  I have just completed my Sophomore season at Quince Orchard High School in which I was pulled up to the Varsity team from JV.   I have started on defense since our first game of Freshmen year.   I received the teams Cougar Award at the end of the season which which is a coaches award given to the player who shows leadership skills with focus and determination to make the team better. 

Academically I am strongest with Math and Sciences and would like to continue that path towards my degree.
