My name is Cooper Pender. I was first exposed to the sport of lacrosse eight years ago. I started out as a midfielder and at that time I played lacrosse to be with my friends. In the 8th grade my middle school team needed a goalie and no one wanted to do it. I stepped up, learned how to play goalie, and I loved it! While playing goalie something clicked for me, I began to put in work like never before. I was first on and last off the field. I was awarded The Coaches Award by our coaching staff that season. Being in the cage quickly became my favorite thing in the world.
I love the sport of lacrosse; it holds a special place in my life, and I am committed to playing in college. I attribute all my personal growth and success as a player to my work ethic and willingness to be taught. I know that being a goalie is one of the hardest positions in all sports, no one person can have all the secrets or knowledge to being good, that is why I approach every opportunity to play as an opportunity to learn and get better. I am looking forward to the recruiting process and meeting new players, teammates and coaches who will help me in my path to success. Thank you for your consideration.
