Passion and drive are what define me in athletics, academics and hobbies. From a child my father exposed me to multiple athletics, always told me “school before sports”, and allowed me to pursue my passions. He, himself was a D2 football player, tri-athlete, powerlifter and marathon runner.
Sports have always been a major part of my life. When I was young I was always surrounded by sport related activities whether it be going to baseball and football games with my father, hearing stories about my father’s time as an athlete, or watching lacrosse on Tv. I have played a wide range of sports at a high level. I love to try new things and when I do I pour my heart and soul into everything I put my mind to. I have the drive to succeed in every aspect of my life.
In my time as a wrestler I competed at a state and national level, including participation in an invite only elite wrestling club called PINnacle. I returned to wresting after a five year absence in 2019, making the varsity team, lettering. I’ve played football since grade school. Recently I played for my high schools 9th grade team and 10th grade Junior Varsity team. While I love both wrestling and football my true passion has become lacrosse.
I started playing lacrosse in middle school. I am currently playing for my high schools lacrosse team, making junior varsity as a 9th grader, and making a club lacrosse team, the Minnesota Chill (MN Chill #72). One of my highlights to date was scoring on the 3d SoCAL team at The Adrenaline Challenge in California. Lacrosse makes me forget about everything around me for the short hour i’m on the field. In those fleeting moments I see myself fit in the most. This sport, above all others, keeps a fire burning inside me and a voice in my head that tells me to keep pursuing MY passion, even when things aren’t going my way. I play the game not to impress any one. I play for myself, I play to succeed, I play bigger than I am, I play to make anyone who doubts that cause to respect what I can do. My goal is to achieve greatness in this sport.
In addition to athletics I work hard to physically position myself for success. I am currently 5’5” and 145 pounds. Each of the last two years I have boasted the fastest or second fastest 40 time on my football team. In the weight room I boast a 185lb bench, 315lb squat, and a 285lb deadlift.
I have several passions outside athletics. I love snowboarding, hunting, fishing and photography. I currently have a 3.2 GPA and am very interested in history and law. I push myself, having taken two AP history classes and two honors courses. I am currently considering law as a career.
I have been given many opportunities in life. I also believe in giving back. I helped to begin a volunteer group with my friends through Lion’s Heart. Lion’s Heart is a teen volunteer group that helps find non-profits for us to support. We appointed a president, treasurer, photographer and secretary. We try to volunteer at least one day a month.
I am excited to continue defining who I will become.
