I am a high school junior with aspirations of playing college lacrosse. I am relatively new to the sport of lacrosse, but earned all conference honorable mention as an LSM in my second year playing as a sophomore and this year was voted 2nd team all conference for defense. My quick year over year improvement has me playing the best lacrosse of my career, and I continue to improve on a near daily basis. Before practices and on weekends, I am working to improve myself by using my bounce back, scooping ground balls, shooting on a goal and lifting weights. I am playing on an elite club team this summer as well. I have also participated in wrestling for 8 years and have had success at the district and state level. Wrestling has definitely developed characteristics in me you don't necessarily get in other sports and established a work ethic and toughness that exceeds many of my peers. Lacrosse allows me to use that mental and physical toughness and apply it to a team environment where I am working just as hard for teammates as I am myself and where I can put my natural leadership skills to use. An example of leadership really came on full display this season. Having a very young, inexperienced team, I was just as much a coach as I was a player. It was both frustrating and rewarding, but I grew a ton in my lacrosse game and more importantly, as a person.
I have a high standard for myself academically as well. I currently hold a 3.94 unweighted GPA and will graduate with an honors diploma next year. Balancing multiple sports with a tough school curriculum has been challenging at times, but putting my all into whatever I am doing is the only way I know how to do things.
Playing college lacrosse hasn't always been something I thought was attainable, but with the work I have put in and will continue to put forward, my coachable attitude and team focused mentality, I feel I would be a great addition to a college lacrosse team.
