I am Ben Sheker currently a Senior Class of 2019 at Cedar Cliff High School. I play Varsity Soccer, Varsity CYO Basketball, and Varsity Lacrosse. It has been a dream of mine ever since I started playing soccer to continue at the next level. I hope that with the help of NCSA and the support of my family that this dream can become a reality. I have played soccer since I was 5 years old and fell in love with the game. My father, who taught me how to play, played Division 1 ball at UPenn and then continued his career as a referee where he was one of the first referee's in the MLS and still referee's to this day at the Division 1 level. I strive to do my best athletically as well as academically. I hold myself to the highest standards as a Student-Athlete and plan on doing the same in college.
My parents have always told me to strive to maintain great grades in the classroom and that athletics will follow. I don't want my athletic career ending after my senior year of high school. I want to choose a field that will allow me to reach my full potential as a student-athlete. I aspire to be an Anesthesiologist and major in Biomedical Engineering. I hope to graduate with a BS and apply to medical school thereafter. I believe that through extra-curricular programs such as Youth and Government, volunteering as a Jr. Firefighter, and being the President of Spanish Club along with the skills I have developed as an athlete, I have learned great time-management and communication traits. I plan on using these traits to achieve the goals I have set out for myself.
Without the support of my parents, siblings, and friends I would not be in the position I am today. I am very fortunate to be able to have the opportunities in front of me and be able to play soccer at the next level. I am very thankful for everyone who has impacted and guided me throughout this journey. I am very excited to continue this journey and reach my goals at a top-tier school academically and athletically!
