2024 ~ Moravian Academy Lions Varsity Boys Lacrosse

Moravian Academy found their way into the PIAA District XI-2A Playoffs.  Unfortunately, as a Transfer Student, per PIAA Rules, J.D. was not be eligible to play in the postseason with his Lion teammates.  Consequently, his regular season summary is as follows: Of 16 Games, he started all but 2 as the season came to a close, to prepare the other Goalies for his absence in the Playoffs.  He totaled 83 Saves with a Goals Against Average hovering near 7, while surrendering only 5 Unforced Turnovers..  Additionally, he gathered 17 Groundballs and Caused 3 Turnovers.  Meanwhile, his clearance game achieved a respectable success rate (near 80%), and he even booked an Assist!  In the first quarter of Moravian Academy's 2nd game against Southern Lehigh High School (J.D.'s former school), he eclipsed 250 Varsity Saves in his high school career!

2023 ~ Southern Lehigh High School Spartans Varsity ~ Sophomore Season Overview

J.D. Gippe (#99) used his Sophomore season to prove that his Freshman season was not a fluke, starting as Varsity Goalie for the majority of both seasons. While the team continued to evolve under new Head Coach Joseph Stevenson during 2022 and 2023, it faced growing pains that were lessened by the consistent performance of Gippe in "the Cage"... During his Sophomore season, J.D. started his first 12 games, where he tallied 104 Saves, 16 Ground Balls, 2 Assists, 2 Forced Turnovers! His season was shortened by a concussion, yet he continued to prove his value to the Spartans through his support from the sideline. Up to the point of his injury, he had more Assists than 80%, more Ground Balls than 72%, more Points than 64%, as many Goals as 52%, and - of course - more Saves than 100% of the Spartans entire roster, playing 574 of the 576 minutes of the season - 10 of 12 Starts faced teams ranked in the top 100 in PA, earning him 2023 MAXPREPS Team MVP!

2022 ~ Southern Lehigh High School Spartans Varsity ~ Freshman Season Overview

Opened the season with a JV victory over Northampton; then substituted in before halftime against Freedom-Bethlehem's VARSITY (No. 28) and went on to play in nine (9) VARSITY games, including six (6) VARSITY starts* against the likes of: Parkland-Allentown* (No. 13), Garnet Valley* (No. 20), Easton Area* (No. 27), Northwestern Lehigh (No. 57), Nazareth* (No. 68), Liberty* (No. 142), Windsor Central-NY* (No. 238), Saucon Valley (No. 144) and Pleasant Valley-Brodheadsville (No. 164) in an impressive Freshman campaign that carried the Southern Lehigh Spartans Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team to the Pennsylvania District XI - 2A Semi-Finals against the Defending State Champions and only undefeated team remaining in the state, Allentown Central Catholic (No. 6)...
