I started learning lacrosse when I was 5 following my older brother Alex to his lacrosse practices & tournaments.
My first experience at playing lacrosse was when I was in first grade with the local Little Laxer's Program.
When I was 8, I decided to be a lacrosse player playing attack, middy & defense on our youth 8U program - from that point on I have wanted to play college lacrosse. When I wasn't in school, I was learning to catch rockets from my brother who by this time had developed into a strong passer & shooter on both his youth & club teams, and I hated it. Why? because he never let up and when I missed a catch it was painful.
Honestly, I swore I'd never catch with him again only to find myself in the backyard with him the next day. My ability to catch & throw accurately, right, or left-handed, is because of my brother who taught me a valuable trait - always be coachable.
My brother also taught me to love the game, every weekend finds us watching college games and debating their play. Afterwards we’d go to the backyard and replay out what we saw.
When I was in 12U I picked up a long pole and have loved it ever since. I enjoy the challenge and teamwork that comes from playing defense as well as the footwork needed to play it well.
While playing 14U I was asked to cover LSM during halftime when our team couldn’t stop a local youth club team stacked with club players from scoring. My coach asked me to cover their leading scorer no matter where he went and make him regret every time he had the ball. We didn’t win that game, but they did not score in the second half and my guy didn’t get a shot or assist.
I stayed in that position and my 14U team won the local 14U youth tournament that year for the first time.
Since starting high school I have played in every high school game as defense or LSM, starting at the close defense position last year and covering LSM when needed. My role on our high school defense last year was to play our opponents best offensive player, a role I enjoyed and taught me to strive to be better every practice and every game. This year my role will be to captain our defense which will have new starters in every position.
When Im not weightlifting or practicing lacrosse I am an active Boy Scout working on my Eagle rank and I give back to our youth program as a volunteer helping to run the Fall Ball Clinic and coach 14U defense.
My goal is to play college lacrosse on a competitive team while completing a degree in Biology.
