I became interested in the sport of lacrosse from my mom. Her experiences as a lacrosse player in high school and college sparked my interest in the sport. When I was little, she threw around with me in the backyard. As soon as I was old enough, I started playing with a welcoming team and that sparked my love for the game. As I have grown up, I have come to realize that playing lacrosse in college is a personal goal of mine. The chance to face bigger challenges and sharpen my skills on a higher platform is very exciting to me. I am committed to putting in the hard work and dedication necessary to excel.
As a defender, I enjoy communicating with my teammates and creating strong bonds on the field. I get a lot of satisfaction in being able to make a defensive stop and then impact offensive play by clearing the ball. I take pride in my strong stick skills and high lacrosse IQ that allow me to contribute to my team. I am a dependable and coachable player who is always willing to receive feedback and work to improve. I am a positive and supportive teammate who encourages others. Last year, I received the team's "Unsung Hero" award.
I also work hard in my academics. I put a lot of time into studying and I am proud of my GPA. I have made the honor roll for three semesters with second honors. I was also student of the month in my sophomore year, recognized for my personal effort and achievement. Outside of the classroom, I volunteer as a camp counselor for a summer lacrosse camp and have also spent time volunteering with a local food bank and Special Olympics.
It is my dream to attend a college where I can continue to grow academically and play lacrosse. I am open to all options and hope to find the right school that gives me a chance to pursue my academic interests and play lacrosse at the highest level of competition.
