I first began rowing when I moved down to Alabama at the age of 10. I tried it for a couple days and I fell in love with it, I continued to go through that season and I was hooked - I didn't want to do any other sport. This sport is different than others I've tried - I love being on the water, it's a healthy full-body sport, I love the teamwork and the overall community within rowing. It has taught me dedication, consistency with my training and developing teamwork skills. For the past seven years I have worked diligently to compete at the best level I can, but I'm not done. Rowing in college is important to me because I want to continue to compete at a higher level, being in boats with athletes that share my passion and challenge each other to work harder.
