Rowing in college would be a dream come true. Ever since the first time I took a stroke during my novice season, I've been hooked. As we enter the end of our season, I am the stroke seat of the Varsity 8+, Lightweight 8+, and Lightweight 4+. When it comes to rowing, I am a hard worker and I love to train. I'm always looking to improve my stroke and improve my feel for the boat. I'm ready and eager to put in the time and the work, and I can't wait to see the results. Also, I am able to balance both a heavy course load while also prioritizing the team, my boats, and my teammates. I've shown I can manage my time well and stay focused on both academics and rowing.
For my college experience, I want a school that can both challenge me academically and allow me to row competitively. I certainly want to continue to row in college, and I want to find a program that will allow me to continue to grow as an athlete and allow me to compete. But, I also desire a school with strong academics that will prepare me for after college and the future. Rowing definitely is important for the college experience, but I am also searching for a school where I can learn and grow as a student and a leader.
