I began rowing the summer before Freshman Year, but have had an affinity for water sports as long as I can remember. Since my first day on the New Trier Rowing Team, I have strived to become a well-rounded student athlete, leader and hard worker. I stay focused in school and committed to my team, as well as to my individual growth as an athlete.
When it comes to rowing, I strive to give it my all. The moment I step foot in the boathouse or rowing loft, I'm mindful about silencing the noise from my school day and social life to focus on practice. No matter the piece - whether it's UT1 or UT2, on the water or off - I push hard and row to the best of my ability. A quote that I live off of everyday is: "Everyday's A Tryout". This phrase, given by one of my coaches before his retirement, helps remind me to always push myself and my teammates - every day counts and consistency matters.
I know I'll be a lifetime rower. And a dream of mine since I've started has been to row in college. Whether it be D1, D2 or D3, being able to row in a college is the utmost importance to me, as it's become part of my identity.
