2k Personal Recor...I have always tried to consistently work hard while showing humility, athletically and academically. The opportunity to row varsity at Culver Academies has given me all of that and more. Being able to go out and row on my local lake, Lake Max, or give it everything I have during a difficult erg workout during the winter has been what I have fallen in love with for the past three years. Waking up before sunrise and walking over to the boathouse in the dead of winter with my teammates are some of my favorite memories. Throwing snowballs at each other or talking about the race piece ahead. After the most brutal Saturday workouts, we would all shower and meet at the local cafe, Cafe Max, and had so much food we felt sick afterward. This sport has taught me how to support my teammates while remaining competitive, pursue "grit" even in the toughest workouts, remain humble in victories, and treat my teammates as family. Rowing in many ways has developed me into a better person physically, intellectually, and morally. I wish to develop not only the lessons and traits learned from rowing at the high school level but also learn more lessons at the college level. I have always pushed myself, and this sport is one where I think that shines through. I work diligently in the classroom and the boathouse alike. Whatever school I get blessed to row at in the future, I will utilize everything it has to offer and more.
Thank you,
