Personal Statement
Throughout my life I have moved from one sport to another with no real interest in them. This changed when I went to the John D. O'Bryants orientation for the 7th grade. When I was there all the classes had been approached about joining the Row Boston program which takes high school and middle school students out to row. I had never tried the sport before so I thought it would be fun to try something new. I don't know what exactly drew me into the sport but as the fall season had faded the amount of people that had been there at the beginning dropped off.
I stuck with the sport more than I thought I would have. Now I am one of the hardest workers and fastest rowers on the team. I continue to move faster and get stronger with my team mates and push them to get faster and stronger. If the boys team wasn't so small then we would have captains, and the boys said that they would want me and my friend who I race our double with to be the captains because we try to bring everyone else with us as we move along.
