I started rowing in Winter 2023 during my freshman year, when looking for a sport to do during high school. My friends who were already on the team convinced me to join as a coxswain as they thought I would be perfect because I was 5'5, 110 lbs, so I joined during the winter season at Detroit Boat Club Crew. I had no problem erging, running, and lifting with the team during the winter, as I enjoyed getting to know the team and the coach a lot better, and learn more about the sport. My first on the water experience was our spring training trip. I was put into both Men's Varsity boats and novice boats, to learn and experience both sides. I learned a lot about the sport and technique from the older experienced rowers and passed it on to the younger novices as the season progressed. I am now going into my junior year, and enjoy the sport's competitiveness and difficulties a lot. I am very quick thinking person, analyzing situations on the water, making decisions quickly. I am looking to be at a college where I can compete at high levels, and contribute to winning.
