I am a 17 year old varsity rower in Manhattan, NY, rowing for Row New York. I started rowing about a year ago and before that I was a cross country runner. In college I want to learn the information and skills needed in order to succeed in my field of interest outside of college. I also want to be able to row at the college I choose, while at the same time, uplifting and supporting my academic career. I feel that I display a unique combination of grit and determination in my rowing career that helps me foster close relationships with my coaches and boatmates. I love to push myself and help others push themselves as well. I believe that rowing is a truly one of a kind sport. It fosters team-building and people's skills while giving you the experiences necessary to keep going in life when the going gets tough. This is why rowing means so much to me and I spend so much time on it trying to be better. I simply want to be a great rower, a great student and help others be the best they can be.
