David Niu 3 seat ...Hi, my name is David Niu, and I love rowing. I have dedicated most of my time in high school to rowing. Other than studying and rowing, there aren't many different things. Maybe some hobbies, such as F1 and playing games, or hanging out with friends. I believe that I am a really hard worker, and when I start something, I finish it to the best of my ability. That is my psychology. Either I don't care about it and don't start it, or I start it and am completely dedicated to it. That's how I work, and that's what I have put rowing as in my life, something that I started, so I will be completely dedicated to doing. Everday day after rowing practice, I get home at 7 pm and I get back on the erg. My friend and I FaceTime each other, and we do another 30 minutes of steady state. I believe this steady state has brought me a long way in terms of endurance and discipline; no matter the day or what I am feeling, I still do it. This is my definition of discipline. But rowing isn't the only thing I am interested in, I also do science research. In my sophomore school year, I have already completed a research project about the synergistic effects of melatonin and estrogen on leukemia cancer. In my sophomore summer, going into junior year, I am doing another project with melatonin related to cancer treatments. Research has also forced me to have better time management skills, as both rowing and research are really time-consuming things. In terms of school, I am part of the debate club and Medical Minds. I am interested in the medical field as learning about the human body is a very interesting thing to me. I have dedicated over 60 hours to volunteering in a hospital, and it has interested me. I am a very open person, always looking to improve. I never criticize any comments my friends or teammates have on me, as it is always a way to improve. As I do Boy Scouts, I follow every aspect of the Scout motto, slogan, law, or oath. I agree with every aspect of it and believe that everyone should follow the teachings of it. All in all, I am looking to bring rowing to the next level and would appreciate the chance to have a shot at it. If you have any questions about anything else or just want to talk to me, I would be more than happy to share or talk!! Thank You
