Hello! When I was in 8th grade my older sister, Kendal, dragged me into the sport as she did it before me. I went along with it and sure enough I fell in love. I had done other sports before but the environment, for me, in rowing was different. While most sports require teamwork, rowing takes it to the next level and that is what I admire most about this sport. I feel that taking 8 different people with different morals and values and putting them into one boat to try to win races helps you learn valuable life lessons. I try to bring the best team environment to any team I am on and I try to make the atmosphere in the boat house as positive as it can be. A negative attitude is the difference between 1st and last. I have seen what it has done to my team before and I don’t want to ever go through that again. I’m hoping to be a role model for whatever program I go to and while i might not be the most verbal leader, I wish that people would look to me when they need to know what to do.
