Personal Statement

“Win without boasting, lose without excuses.”  I follow this motto on the field, in the classroom and at home. I look to bring this outlook to my pursuit of a degree in engineering or geology in combination with my goal of playing soccer in NCAA1.

"Chris was one of the strongest all-around players and team leaders that I have had the experience of coaching. His fitness level, physical ability, determination and mind for soccer are second to none. There is really no area of being a strong soccer player in which he did not lead the team and very possibly the city." - Mark Driedger - High School Head Coach

Over the years, I've dedicated myself to achieving my academic and athletic goals. I have won numerous awards for outstanding performance on the field and have attained “Honor Roll with Distinction” every year, which demonstrates my ability to balance athletics and academics. While attending Bishop O’Byrne I have also been the recipient of numerous "Habits of Mind" nominations, awarded to students with the following character traits: thinking and communicating with clarity, persisting and managing impulsivity, and striving for accuracy.

I am an easily coachable and versatile player that understands the game and readily adapt to any play style or field position. My hard work, seriousness, and determination have been often been recognized and valued by my coaches and teammates. When asked to perform a leadership role, I enthusiastically accept the responsibility and similarly encourage others to maximize their contribution.

My focus, positive attitude, attention to detail and desire to excel have been invaluable to the Bishop O’Byrne learning community as well as to the soccer clubs I have always proudly represented.
