As I enter my senior year, I am most excited to explore the opportunities of continuing my soccer journey into college. Soccer has been the constant throughout my life since the age of 4. From my father playing his entire life through college and then my brother playing as well, it is a common topic of conversation in our house. Soccer has taught me how to challenge myself in ways that I never knew I could. From joining a new team or club and connecting with those players, to challenging myself to gain speed or skill and then impressing the coaches the next season. It pushes me, it motivates me, soccer is part of me. One of the moments that soccer provided new challenges for me was my freshman year. I was placed on a new club team with a new coach. He did not know my as a person or as an athlete. I was always a starter, yet I was not starting. By the 6th game that season, I was part of the starting eleven and also was not subbed off during the game. I had to prove to the coach what I could do on the field and demonstrate the impact that I could make for the team. I was nervous, but always up for the challenge.
I'm hoping to be part of a team in college that wants to find success on and off the field. I love both the comradery and the group effort that soccer allows as you all must work together to achieve a common goal. This brotherhood and team dynamic pushes me to be there and support the others. I look forward to utilizing that skill and continuing that challenge for the next 4 years. I plan to study business or finance, however, I have still not fully decided. I look forward to connecting with you and meeting potential new mentors for my future.
