Julian Pierik '27 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6 ft sophomore at Horizon High School in Scottsdale, AZ. I have been playing club soccer since I was in Kindergarten. I started playing as a field player, but I transitioned to goalkeeper once we started playing 7 v 7. I have been a full-time goalkeeper for about 7 years. My grandad played professionally for 13 years in the original NASL, 9 of those years with SJ Earthquakes; and he helped develop me into the keeper i am today. I like playing keeper because i get to watch the entire game and help my team both defensively and offensively. I have a unique ability with my feet and like to play high and that‘s why some call me a sweeper keeper.

I do have dreams to play soccer in college and professionally. I moved to Barca Academy last year. I train 4-5 times a week both on and off the field, always giving one hundred percent effort looking to improve in every game and practice. In February 2024 I got my first national team call up for a week training camp in Florida. I have participated in two other U.S. soccer ID camps and last year was named 1 of 6 top talents in Arizona by prepsoccer.com.

I am a good student, with a 3.8 GPA. I like to study math and science. I have an older sister and older brother who both played sports as well. I am a dual national. My family is European, my dad is Dutch and my mom is Scottish/Norwegian. I like to play golf, watch soccer and play video games.
