Gabriel Brister '23 Recruiting Profile

I started playing soccer when I was about 10 years, and I immediately knew after my first game that this is what I want to do with my life. Because I started playing soccer so late this has caused me to have to work twice a hard as my competition. This has instilled in me a work ethic and a drive to achieve my goals like no other. My goal academically and athletically is pretty simple and that is to be the best. Anything I do I want to be the best at it, I hate losing or coming in second place. I think the great Ricky Bobby once said “ if you’re not first then your last “ and I agree. Some people will disagree with this statement, but they don’t realize that soccer isn't just a game or a sport to me. Soccer is my life and I want to succeed in the beautiful game of soccer more than I want to live, because without soccer what’s the point in living.
