Personal Statement

CMy Information

Improving my skills to increase my level of play to become a better player for myself and the team.

I can play a few positions, such as midfielder, fullback, and striker, with a good physical composition to the game.  I am considered "coachable".

My body is in top form with no injuries nor concussions.

I come prepared mentally for every game with a winning attitude and get my teammates up for the game.  My many years of cross-training, such as: baseball (catcher), football (middle linebacker), ball hockey (defender), volleyball, track and field (high jump, javelin, and track runs) has helped me build strength and stamina.  My academics are varied with culinary skills, music (saxophone in concert band/wind ensemble) for enjoyment, and socials and sciences for the heavier stuff.

Commitment to the my school, my team. and my studies are TOP PRIORITIES!

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Celtic Elite Player Program
  • 6/09/17 to 6/11/17
  • This was an "invite" only camp put on by the affiliates of the Celtics of Scotland's premier team. Only 200 players were in attendance from across North America. It was a showcase for the Celtic coaches.
  • Camp/Event
  • Coastal Cup U17 Metro
  • 5/07/17 to 5/07/17
  • Carter called up again to join the U17 Metro (as was throughout the season). Played as midfielder and right full back. The team went on to win the Coastal Cup. Another wonderful experience playing up.
  • Camp/Event
  • BCSPL (B.C. Soccer Premier League)
  • 5/01/17 to 6/30/17
  • The BCSPL is a higher league than Metro. Coastal FC picked up Carter to help out as injuries to players necessitated calls up. Along with Carter, 2 of his teammates were also chosen and the 3 helped bring the team to playoff position. Carter was active on midfielder and defensive duties.
  • Camp/Event
  • B.C. Summer Games 2016
  • 6/22/16 to 6/26/16
  • Carter selected out of 300plus players vying for a position to represent Zone 5 (Vancouver-Coastal). Played midfield every game and full length of 40mins halves. Lost the gold medal to Zone 2 (Thompson-Okanagan) 1-0 in a shoot-out. It was a great experience and once in a lifetime memory.
  • Camp/Event
  • B.C. Provincials U16 Div 1
  • 6/04/16 to 6/09/16
  • After Carter's regular team U15 Div 1 lost in regional playoffs, he was called up by U16 team (as he was throughout the year and won the Coastal Cup) to re-join the team for Provincial showdown. The team won all games, except for the final. It was another great experience.

Training

  • TSS (Total Soccer System) and Micro Footie/Train Like an Athlete
  • 10 years
  • Training with TSS was technically based which involved skills development. An invite only team was made and sent to Seattle tournaments to put skills to good use. TSS lasted for 6yrs. Micro Footie/Train Like an Athlete is an affiliate of the Celtics of Scotland. Carter recently returned from San Francisco for an invite of only 200players from across North America. He is currently under this group for on-going training. Also, go to the park to kick ball and scrimmage with friends.
  • DCS (Delta Coastal Selects) and First Touch Clinics
  • 2 years
  • His current team, DCS, has training/practices twice a week during the season, and once a week for added measure he attends First Touch to hone his kicking skills.
  • Jason instructs young players skills on a balance of offence and defence and then trains them to develop.
  • 2 years
  • Jason teaches and develops young players the way of Celtic FC would play in the Scottish League. Very intense and gratifying!
  • UFV University of Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, B.C. 2018
  • 1 year
  • Attended an ID camp for the UFV soccer team and was one of few selected to return and train with the men's university team for 2weeks. The team consists of players at least 2yrs of age older. After training completed Carter and a teammate were recruited to join a BCSPL U18, a year older team, (British Columbia Soccer Premier League) for a showcase tournament to be held in late March and early April 2018. Vancouver Whitecaps of the MLS will be in attendance among others.
