Hi, my name is Lucas Cone, I am from Vancouver, Canada. I love soccer; playing since I was 5 years old.
Over the past 11 years, I have been part of my high school junior and senior teams and played on, House, Div 1, Gold, Metro levels and now in a Supra Academy League. I have also traveled to Spain and attended a summer skills program in Barcelona. My favorite player is Iniesta from FC Barcelona; one of the most famous midfielders of all time. I model myself after his style.
I tend to play left or right back, but also slot in as an attacking or defensive midfielder/ outside midfielder when needed.
My goals are to become a top college athlete while being both academically strong and finding a school, coach and team to help me develop into a professional soccer player.
What are my strengths?
I learn quickly on and off the field.
I can bring a competitive, but positive environment to any team I am on and inspire players to become the best they can while doing the same for myself.
I have played pretty much every position and have composure anywhere on the pitch.
Agility, pace, balance, and ball control in close spaces is my calling card.
My coaches often play me against the other team's best player; my role is to play responsible defense, frustrate the opposition, disrupt their passing and take advantage of their mistakes by transitioning the ball up field with speed.
I bring spatial awareness and high intensity to every team and field.
A key aspect of my game is my vision, making me very dangerous all over the pitch - whether it is playing a thru ball to one of my teammates, or playing a cross field pass to break the pressure.
I am friendly, reliable and hard working, and I give my very best in everything I do; especially to the team and my teammates.
What am I looking for after Highschool?
I would like to find a college scholarship that would allow me to pursue my interests in Kinesiology/Sports Managment and continue playing the game I love.
A coach and a team that can help me hone my potential and strengths.
I have a hearing disability and wear a hearing aid in one ear; I am looking for a program that sees beyond my impairment and can help me reach my potential without barriers.
A program that promotes player development at the same level as winning.
A program that sees who I am and what I can offer.
I am dedicated, coachable, and eager to bring my passion for the game, strong character, and academic focus to a program. Thanks for considering me.
