Soccer is one of the most important activities for me because it has had the biggest influence on my life. As far back as I can remember I've always had a schedule of at least two practices per week year round. Doing something so much made it become more than just an activity. It became part of my life, and personality. Being a team sport, soccer taught me the importance of teamwork. It is frustrating when I try my hardest, and my team still loses because some didn't put in as much effort. I think the most important ingredient for me is your mindset. , so the defining factor is inside each player's head. Great players can control themselves and focus on a positive mindset. I apply that mental toughness to all other parts of my life, and it makes it all just a bit easier to handle.
I grew up travelling with my parents almost every year, I went to school in the Netherlands, Mexico and Uruguay. I also spent various years doing online learning. My broad experience of different learning styles has taught me values which I feel cannot be taught by our regular education system. I think the most valuable thing I have learnt from alternative learning is that education isn’t about good grades but about enriching ones' knowledge, and good grades come naturally. All this applies to soccer as well obviously and having played in all this different countries also gave me lots of experience, exposure and thought me to adjust and adapt to different styles and teams.
I am very focussed and always aware of the location of others in the field, I really enjoy strategy and team effort.
I’m ready for it.
