Playing sports has taught me many life lessons. One important lesson is that every player on a team has to work together to accomplish a single goal. I depend on them and they depend on me. The foundation of every great team is a direction that energizes, orients, and engages its members. Teams cannot be inspired if they don’t know what they’re working toward and don’t have explicit goals. Throughout my soccer career, I have been that catalyst. Whether it was my club team or the Cal South Olympic Development team (ODP), I have earned the respect of my fellow players and coaches and was voted team captain on each of these teams. As a goalkeeper in a highly competitive league, I am an excellent communicator offering strong shot stopping skills, excellent footwork, explosive speed and agility, strong positional awareness, mental toughness, and a high soccer IQ complemented with a proven track record of leadership. As captain of my club team, I lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and assist my coach with leading practices and coaching other teammates to success. I strive to be one of the hardest working recruits you will find. I work hard year round on my soccer skills and playing on an Elite Academy League (EA) level team. In addition, I attend goalkeeper training multiple times per week and over the course of the last several years I participated in travel baseball, high school football, and strength and conditioning under professional supervision, which all contribute to my athleticism. In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a 4.6 GPA and carry a heavy course load taking every AP and Honors course available to me. I was inducted into the National Honor Society and have been recognized every semester at St. John Bosco High School for “Outstanding Academic Achievement”. I also volunteer with the Surfrider Foundation; St. Lawrence Martyr Church; Torrance Memorial Hospital – Burn ICU; and as a peer tutor at St. John Bosco High School. I want to attend college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the soccer pitch. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match with a strong reputation for its academic rigor while playing soccer at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model within my family, peer group and community.
