Neel Srejan '15 Recruiting Profile

Not only do I bring my cleats and jersey to the game, but I also bring heart, passion and energy to the field. I am a 4 year varsity soccer player and a 2 year captain who has been growing and developing alongside great teammates who have come and gone as the years go by. I have been playing competitive soccer since the age of 7 and have been attempting to enhance my game ever since. My club team is currently playing in the premier division and my school team is in the second division of high school soccer. I am a forward by nature as scoring goals is the name of the game. But I am ubiquitous on the field as I can and have been deployed as a winger, center back, center mid, defensive mid and have faired rather well in each position as I am an intelligent player and can make the right choices based on the position that I am deployed in. As a natural forward, I love to make runs and split the defense with a run onto a through ball to get a shot on goal and score. The feeling is second to none. But I am not only focused on the field but off as well as I am an academic player as well. I hold a 4.3 weighted GPA in school and I am currently enrolled in 4 AP classes. I have attended a summer program at UC Davis by the name of COSMOS where I studied "Physics in Electro-optics and Nuclear Technology." I have aided a startup company in Pennsylvania, Drop Diagnostics by running competitor analysis and found grants for which the new company can apply for. In addition, I have taken the time to familiarize myself with their plans for the device they are going to manufacture for early detection of ovarian cancer. Along with the classes and things I do, I volunteer for Sankara Eye foundation and have raised 650 dollars for the corporation to conduce free eye surgeries for those who are blind and require the surgery. I am involved in other clubs in school such as speech and debate, math club, science bowl, jade ribbon, do something, and FBLA where I hold the secretary roll for the club. Even with my tough schedule, soccer is a passion and desire that I wholeheartedly love and am committed to and hope to play in college along with the studies that I carry out anyway.
