Carlos Diaz '19 Recruiting Profile

Firstly I think Defense comes first, You can have the best forward in the world but with a crappy defense that isn't able to push up, gain dominance, and create opportunities for our offense, it'll be hard to get anywhere. I want a coach that strongly believes in defense comes first, and I want to work with other amazing defenders because I want a shutout in every single game.

My name is Carlos, I've been team Captain & for all 4 years of High School and MVP all-league for 2 of those years. I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I started in AYSO, was nominated to play in All-Stars and MVP all-league. 

I continue my soccer journey in a private Club, Central Coast Condors (B01). We were very competitive, won the state cup, attended nationals, and placed 6th place. We were invited to an international tournament where we placed 4th. 

I've been the fastest defender in every team I've had. My primary position is Right Back, that position is special to me because I feel like not a lot of players know how to play that position correctly. I think that because I'm fast and have a lot of stamina, I am able to run the wing, be there for midfielders, open up space and keep up that energy thought the entire game. Right-back and left-back to me are like a freeway, always needing to run up and down to support and be there as an option. 

I also had the best throws in the entire league in high school and in my club. My throw-in usually goes inside the box near the PK area and that has been very helpful it has helped my team score a lot of goals that we wouldn't have had without a good throw. 

A defender like me, knowledgeable in my position, fast, aggressive, active, strong throw, and has been captain for HS and club is a perfect athlete to get a perfect defense. 

I know I will make a good candidate for any team because my leadership skills on the field, my energy, and my focus will set me apart from any other defender out there.
