My aims for college are to gain a strong education and explore different career choices in science, technology, and math. I may not know what exact career path I want to take yet but I know a good education will help set me on the right path. Also, I believe that education isn’t the only positive thing to gain from college. College allows you to become a more independent and well rounded person. At college, I hope to make new friends, have new experiences, and most importantly, to further my soccer career.
I am a disciplined soccer player who started playing on a team at five years old. Since then, I have had the opportunity to play on multiple teams at the club and NPL level. I’ve worked with many different coaches, gaining various skills, tactical knowledge, and confidence. Over the years, I have learned from some really great coaches with very different approaches, which taught me to adapt to different styles of play and evolve as a player. I am a strong and confident center back with experience playing as an striker and CDM. I am comfortable on the ball, able to carry it up the field, calm under pressure as the last man, and I’ve put the ball at the back of the net when asked to play up. I like to set an example for my teammates by setting the pace in practice and leading warmups before trainings and games. I am outspoken and talk to my team during games, coordinating my back line and motivating my teammates, an important role as a center-back. I still have a lot to learn, but I hope to grow and get pushed to my full potential by my coach and teammates on my college team.
I am a talented player that stands out as a clutch member of my team, but I also work hard to stand out in class. I take the role of team lead in group projects, being able to work well with others and coordinate my and others' schedules to get our assignments done. I excel as a student, with a 4.05 GPA and participate in class with a positive attitude. One of my biggest motivations to work hard is to give myself the best opportunity I can to play and learn at a top school. Even when I feel tired or stressed out with school and training, I keep my goals in my mind and that’s what gives me the energy and the confidence to keep pushing myself further.
