My name is Luke Williams. I play MLS Next soccer at Ballistic United Soccer Club. I play primarily in the 7 and 11 roles but I also play the 10 and 9 with comfort on occasion. As a player, I like to play direct as a winger, take players 1v1 and create crossing, shooting and goal scoring opportunities. Going with my team’s philosophy, I try to invert as much as possible to turn and combine with the striker, midfielder below or find the fullback running in behind. I also will frequently make a run across the defensive line for a ball over the top, if they play a high line. I am extremely competent and confident using both feet in shooting, dribbling, crossing and passing. I work with my fullback as much as possible to combine up the line, but I will also play direct with penetrating runs. In the game, I work as hard as possible both defensively and offensively. When my fullback is in a 1v1 position, I will work to support him. When my team is attacking, I will be there to provide support. Not only in sport, I have a 4.0 GPA. I am interested in pursuing the humanities and I take as many classes to support that. In college, I hope to be playing at the D1 level to fully challenge myself and surround myself with quality coaching and teammates. I also hope to further my academic abilities along with this, especially in history. Overall, I am excited for this process and I believe my skills and work ethic will help provide a support for that.
