My name is Jacob Stokes, and I’ve committed to taking a gap year to train and compete in Europe. This opportunity is a crucial step in my development as a player, allowing me to grow technically, tactically, and physically at a high level of competition. I’m fully focused on elevating my game and preparing myself for the next stage of my career. I remain open to opportunities for next season, and wherever I play, I will bring dedication, intensity, and a relentless drive to improve and contribute.
I have been in love with the game ever since I took my first step onto the field. Since then, my desire to play collegiate soccer has grown, and I've come to understand the effort, focus, and sheer willpower required to achieve this goal. To achieve this ambitious goal, I intend to give it everything I have. I know I have what it takes to make it to the next level. I'm an intelligent, strong and versatile player, I can play any position and I can perform at a high standard. My primary position is center back and right back. I am physically fit and have great stamina. My height and strength is what helps me be a top defender. On and off the field I have shown that I can be a great leader. I can take criticism and am very coachable.
My discipline is what really separates me. I am determined and motivated to become the best I can be. Motivation is what starts the journey but determination is what gets you through it. I’m a 4.4 GPA student with a couple honors awards. I am in the Puente program which helps set me up in my goal to get to college. I’m involved in a club that helps my community and gives back. During my free time I referree club and middle school matches to better understand the game and get more knowledge. I have also worked at various soccer camps as a coach to the young ones to become the best they can be.
