This sport is a religion to me. My name is Gonzalo Hoyuela and my dream is to become a professional soccer player. Whenever I walk onto the pitch, I give it my full respect and undivided attention. The amount of love I have for this sport is unmatchable. I truly believe that if you believe in something fully, you can do it. People describe me as a Mustang who can’t be saddled as I have a very unique and wild style of play. Many coaches love it, and many don't, however, one thing they all give me credit for is my hustle. My hustle stands out from everyone else and it shows once I step onto the pitch. You need someone to put the ball in the back of the net? I’m your guy. You need someone to score a last-minute goal? I’m your guy. Several people may say I’m cocky, but I’m not. By nature, I’m just a very assertive, confident, and competitive individual overall, on and off the field. Another thing I truly believe in is team play. Many teams have different styles of play, but it's the players that make those styles flow in the game. Starter or bench player, everyone brings something to the team. Everyone has a special talent to contribute, whether it be an amazing sense of awareness, or a player‘s ability to bring the team together. Off the field, I am a younger brother and an older brother, a middle child. My biggest role models are my parents and older sister. I try to be the best role model for my younger siblings as well. One thing that sets me apart from my family and other students is my curiosity. A lot of people love how curious I am, especially my teachers. My teachers have always told me that being curious can lead to many opportunities and relationships. I believe that my curiosity for knowledge is what helps me excel in every one of my classes. I am a 4.0 student who takes honors and AP courses. These classes are always challenging me, but I love myself a challenge. These are all the main aspects of who I am as a person, student, and athlete. My name is Gonzalo Hoyuela, and this is who I am. “Can’t saddle a Mustang
