My name is Lucas Fajardo, and it is my dream to keep playing soccer as a college athlete and beyond. In the next few years, as I continue to work hard both at school and in soccer related activities, I will be looking for a college where I can reach my full potential academically and where I can continue developing as a soccer player.
I have been in a competitive club environment since I was 6 years old. Since 2021, I have been playing for the San Jose Earthquakes academy. I am constantly working on perfecting my craft and becoming the best player I can be. Ever since I was little, I have always worked very hard and put extra hours and effort, as I know that this is the only way that I will continue improving and standing out.
I feel very confident in some of my abilities as a player that make me who I am and differentiate me from many others. I believe that I have great vision and Soccer IQ, which allows me to find very clever and effective through balls, penetrating passes, and diagonal long balls. I also think I have a great crossing ability to pick out different runners in the box. I like to combine and connect a lot in the midfield and have a great shot from distance. I am very comfortable dribbling, passing, and shooting with both feet and have the ability to get myself out of tight situations with different technical skills. I consider myself a true team player since my priority has always been to make the team play better, which translates in many unselfish plays and off the ball movements.
Off the field, I am always striving to be the best in the classroom. I highly value education as I understand how important it is to create a foundation for the rest of my life and to help contribute to society. I attend Archbishop Mitty High school (San Jose, CA), and I was able to maintain a 4.2 GPA throughout my freshman year and a 4.4 GPA in my sophomore year. As a junior, I will be taking 4 AP courses. These classes will allow me to continue challenging myself and to succeed in college. In addition to academics, helping the community is something that I am becoming more and more involved in, and it is an important aspect of my family’s values. I have helped at a senior home, helped at a food bank, and took care of students at a day care.
I am very excited about building my future every day, with the support of my family, teachers, coaches and friends. I am determined to become the best athlete, student, and person I can be.
