Andrew Gilbert '13 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has been part of my life since I was 3 years old. I've played over 25 seasons of soccer total in my life. Soccer has been my life and I love the game. It would be my dream to play soccer in college but also getting a quality education. I am looking to major in sports medicine of some kind. Either Kinesiology or Athletic Training would be ideal to me. As far as on the pitch, I believe I bring a lot to the table. As captain on my club team and as a captain on my HS team this upcoming year I give direction from the central back position. I am vocal out there, but I keep it positive. As when everything is at a positive environment, the team plays very well together. Also from the central back position I bring good vision. I like to make plays happen and create scoring opportunities. When I am not taking free kicks, I am always the target in the box for a header or volley. Center back is my main position, but very seldom I have played striker because my shot is above average for a center back. There is no doubt in my mind that I want to play college soccer.
