Personal Statement
To Whom it may concern ,
My name is Steven Ramos, I graduated from Apopka High School (2021) and have lived in Florida my whole life. I come from a Mexican-French descent family, my parents migrated to the US from Mexico , and I was born here in the US. I can speak Spanish and English fluently , and have been able to help many people that have migrated from Hispanic countries .
I have played soccer my whole life ,that’s all I know ever since I was a kid. My father played in his hometown team back in Mexico, he taught me everything about soccer. I started playing in a local team called Mustangs at 8 years of age and played there my whole childhood . As I grew it was hard to get me into a travel/club team , because it was expensive and my parents were in a economic struggle at the time .
My parents and family have always worked, that’s just the Mexican lifestyle , hard working people. I learned quickly and have worked in construction and landscaping jobs ever since I was 14 years old. I got the chance to play for my middle school for 3 years and grew a lot in those year , I was the top scorer for 2 seasons.
I paid myself 4 seasons of Apopka FC club at GCF lll, and at the same time played for Apopka High School Varsity for 3 years as well , from my 10th to 12th grade year.
I’m the oldest out of 5 sibilings, I want to set the example for them, no one in my family has went to college and I want to be the first. I love soccer, its my passion , I have dedicated almost all my life to this sport, worked out my body mentally and physically, got stronger every year. I want to be someone my family can be proud of , grow everyday ,professionally , as a person and as an student athlete. It would be a true Gods blessing , too do what I love , and give my family a better life in the future.
