As a junior in high school, I understand that my collegiate life will soon begin. Considering this, I have often looked within myself to identify how I will view this next chapter in my life. In the current state of my outlook on a career choice, my mind is set on a general marketing degree. I understand nothing sports-related is ever promised and know that it is imperative to have a strong academic support system. However, this does not mean that my focus towards a team becomes unfavorable as I truly believe I can be a good asset to any team. As displayed on my previous teams, I am capable of holding an important role of captain. By doing so, I can lead my team to victories and be a prominent figure for them to follow. Even with this role, I am knowledgable of the importance to cooperate with your team. I am able to provide for my team in aspects that may not be deemed as the leading player on the team. No matter the scenario, I will make sure that I showcase my talents and my value towards a team. I believe what makes me different as an athlete is my skill in multiple fields. I am a dual athlete as I compete in both track and soccer with my speed and ability to read both sports propelling me over the opposing sides. In soccer, I am able to play every position, with the exception of keeper, despite my strongest area being center back. If the team requires me to play within the midfield or rely on me for a scoring opportunity, I have no problem with doing so to provide the best chances of success. Additionally, I believe I standout in comparison to other recruits when viewing my academics. Throughout my entire childhood and current state in life, I have managed an equal balance between sports and academics. Although sports take up a decent amount of time in my life, I consistently received all A's for many years in a row, excelled in gifted programs, maintained a top 12 ranking amongst my graduating class, received direct praise from principals and administration, and above all, showed up to school every day from kindergarten to now, without any tardiness or excuses. If these qualities have shown anything, it is my ability to be dedicated to all tasks and consistently hold myself accountable to the high standards I set for myself. Combining my athletic and academic view on life, I am in strong belief that my overall character stands out when compared to those around me. That being said, I never try to compare myself to others as a way of measuring my own success. While it is important to be ahead of the curve, I believe it is important to focus on self improvement as only I can decide what my fate is and how successful I can be in life.
