Joseph Ishak '29 Recruiting Profile

As an 8th grader who is nearing the beginning of high school, I begin to focus on my future more and more by the day. Although academics have always been the top priority for me in my life, soccer fulfilled me more than anything. When I am on the field with my team, I will dedicate all my effort, and skills to our cause. Whether it's a practice, team meeting, or game, I give everything because I am passionate about the game and I love to make an impact by being present in the moment. Once I am off the field, school is always a top priority. I keep myself to standards that are very high, such as keeping a 4.0 gpa thus far through every single moment of my school so far in my life. I never use my rough schedule in soccer as an excuse to not take school seriously. Even though a GPA doesn't define a student, my morals of always being hard working, dedicated, and giving my all are important things instilled in me that are very powerful in shaping me to be the student athlete I aspire to be. Socially, I love interacting with teammates, sharing our passion for the game to improve eachother. When I am collaborating with others in the class environment, my character does not shy away from a group effort, and sharing my ideas with others, as well as hearing theirs. This a key part of me that makes me become a figure to peers that they can always talk to for help. My patience and respect for others allows me to try and be an impactful figure in others lives, one way or another. I believe that becoming a college student athlete would greatly benefit the program, as I am ready to give all my social, athletic, and intellectual abilities, and make a lasting impact on those around me.
