Simon Van Boxel '21 Recruiting Profile

I’ve had a competitive nature from a young age, which is why I loved soccer ever since I was introduced to the game at age four. As a kid I started playing recreational soccer locally, but as I developed a strong passion, I moved up to higher levels of play as I grew and improved my game. I have been a part of DTC, ODP, NPL, ECNL and DA programs in Georgia and Florida as well as participated in various Disney showcases.

Traveling to Curitiba, Brazil with the Jacksonville Armada DA team for the U15 Copa Caio Junior tournament has definitely been the highlight of my soccer career. I had the privilege to play in a completely different environment with different players from Brazil and Japan. 

Personally, I feel that my top strengths are my acceleration, dribbling at speed, and my ability to use both feet. At this point, my goal is to play soccer at the highest level possible, giving me a chance to continue improving as a player individually and with a team, while studying business and marketing.
