My name is Mitchell McCurry and my goal is to play soccer and obtain a great education at a leading academic university. I truly believe in the student athlete concept and it is equally important to me to be successful in the classroom as well as on the pitch. I am an honor student with a current GPA of 4.0. I take a combination of AP and gifted classes, and I plan to major in either an engineering discipline or computer science. I play soccer for the GSA 98 Premier team and Duluth High School in Duluth, Georgia. I am a versatile defender who starts at right back but can play anywhere across the back line. My club team plays in the National League, Region 3 Premier and the Premier League-East. Additional Club Accomplishments: Georgia State Finalist 2011, 2012 Super Y South Atlantic Champions 2011, 2012 Atlanta Cup Champions 2011, 2012 Georgia Classic 1 Champions 2011 Disney Showcase 2010, 2011, 2012 Duluth High School plays in the Region VII, class AAAAAA division of the Georgia High School Sports Association. Region VII is in Gwinnett County which is home to some of the best high school soccer in the nation. The Georgia State High School Champion for the large school division has come from Gwinnett County in seven of the last twelve years. I am also a multi-year member of the Georgia State '97 ODP team and attended the Region 3 ODP camp in 2012 and 2013. I'm also a freestyle swimmer on the Duluth High School varsity swim team. I was a state qualifier as a freshman.
