Ian Yogi '23 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals and intentions are to continue my education in a major related to health and medicine, and if possible, continue my athletic career at the next level.  I currently attend Iolani School where I maintain around a 3.9-4.0 GPA and have enrolled in two AP classes for my senior year. On the field, I mainly play as a winger or outside back, but also receive playing time at midfielder.  I believe that my hardworking and optimistic character have helped lead to my success on and off the field. I have always been the smallest player on the field, and despite my lack in size, I believe I make up for it in attitude and work ethic. Through many experiences early on with coaches keeping me on the sideline because of my short stature, I have learned to be grateful for every opportunity on the field, and work to utilize each moment as if it were my last. I train every day working to strengthen and protect my body, as well as improve my skills. I will continue working hard in school and soccer, and if I am lucky enough to receive my shot to play at the collegiate level, I promise the coach will not regret his or her decision in choosing me.
