My name is Lucas Kay-Wong and I live in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. When I was 3 years old walking around in a diaper, my uncle came back from the mens league and dropped the soccer ball in front of my tiny feet. Ever since that day, soccer has not left my mind. I am so passionate about soccer and love the sport like nothing else. Soccer has brought out parts of me that I would never have known without it. One thing soccer showed me is my work ethic and how important work ethic is to succeed. Another thing soccer has taught me is that I cannot be afraid to take a shot and take a risk because failing is important for growth. I am a hard-working young athlete who will always give my all. My hobbies are traveling, diving, and spending time with my family. I plan to pursue a degree in engineering. I aspire to become a professional soccer player. I currently play soccer for the Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi varsity team. This summer I traveled to New Zealand to play with the first-ever U19 Men's Hawaiian National Team. This team was scouted by high-level coach, Ian Mork. I was awarded with the player of the match in our international debut game. I feel some skills I bring to all the teams I compete on are communication, leadership, creativity, attacking mindset, quick transitions, and position versatility.
