Inspired by my mother’s passion for the sport, I began playing soccer at the age of three. From an early age, my parents encouraged me to try a bit of everything: baseball, gymnastics, flag football, library programs, and more. But it was soccer that truly captured my attention. While other kids picked dandelions on the sidelines, I was the one who wanted to stay on the field long after practice ended. Thirteen years later, that same love for the game still drives me.
For most of my club career, I’ve played center defender—a position where I felt confident, strong, and in command. More recently, my coaches moved me into the role of center defensive midfielder. Noted for my aggressive style of play, my ability to “play bigger than my size,” and my vocal leadership on the field, the transition came naturally. I thrive in high-pressure moments—winning tackles, distributing the ball with composure, and helping the team maintain possession as we move up the field.
Leadership is something I take pride in both on and off the pitch. I’ve been named captain for ODP Far West Championships, Surf Select National tournaments, and MLS Next games. Coaches and teammates rely on me to set the tone—during warm-ups, throughout matches, and after the final whistle. Off the field, I lead by example, encouraging my peers to make smart decisions in class and within our community.
I’m known for being coachable, dependable, and hard-working. I regularly guest play for other teams and am always looking for new ways to grow. Whether it’s through ID camps, clinics, or national tournaments with Surf Select, I train year-round to stay sharp and competitive. I also competed in other sports for many years—including cross country, wrestling, track, basketball, and even dance—to improve my endurance, agility, and versatility. Still, soccer remains my primary passion and focus at the club level.
Academically, I challenge myself with advanced courses and have maintained a strong GPA through persistence and discipline. Learning doesn’t always come easily to me, but I’ve developed the habit of asking for help and putting in the extra time to succeed. My work ethic extends beyond school and soccer. Since I was ten, I’ve worked on my family’s ranch and in a local Japanese restaurant—balancing full days in the summer and evening shifts during the school year with my training and academic responsibilities.
I’m seeking a college where I can contribute both on the field and in the classroom. I’m open to all opportunities—whether that’s a junior college, university, or trade-focused program—because my priority is finding the right environment where I can grow, compete, and represent my team with integrity. I’m excited to bring my leadership, drive, and commitment to a college community, and I look forward to proving that I’m ready for the next level.
