Brian Rodriguez '24 Recruiting Profile

I started playing soccer in an actual team since i was 7 and it was a team my dad made in a summer league. Dad did it with the purpose for my brother and I to play and stay healthy. Later on I moved to small town named Kimberly where the main focus is on football and basketball. They didn’t have soccer as a sport option in our school so I really wanted to play soccer so my dad and I went to the principals office and asked them if there was a possibility of making a soccer team and they said there wasn’t a lot of people interested. Later on we asked a couple more times and one day they told us that they had taken the decision of having soccer is an option of a sport in the spring. I was your only 6th grader that played in the middle school team a year later they added soccer as a fall sport in the high school. Since then soccer has been a sport in Kimberly since 2018 and I’ve played every year since then. Soccer wasn’t really a sport people focused on. All of the players got together and decided to work and put effort in me myself wanted to show that Kimberly soccer could be great. We all stepped up and we all had leader ship team bonding. We were all team players and we were down listen. And finally in 2021 we made our first appearance in the state soccer tournament. Where we beat the three-year state, defending champ in the first round made the biggest upset. All this has helped me to be a leader and a team player. Love your teammates as a family. my freshman year they didn’t have a kicker for the football team and the football team as a soccer team. If there was someone that was interested in being the kicker for the team. I stepped up and join the JV football team. I’ve been kicking for the football team since then as well working on my power, which also helps in my shots in the soccer games.

I really love the sport of soccer and I personally want to keep playing and enjoying the sport and hopefully with all my work and effort get the chance of making it to the big leagues. Team Player and listening has always been big for me so I could become a better player. If i disagree in something I would like to talk about it. 

I also am the kicker for the football team where I have learned to control myself and not get overheated when someone hits me. Helping stay under control for soccer and my personal life. I am currently taking my normal classes and have a GPA of 3.0/4.0.
