Devin Hurtado '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Devin Hurtado from Berwyn, IL. I am student-athlete. I am looking for a college that has an excellent program in both academics and athletics. I am currently a Junior at Morton West High School, class of 2021. I worked hard to have the opportunity to play soccer my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years. Our soccer program at school is ranked #2 in 3A.

I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old at my local park district. At age 10, I was offered to play travel soccer with Berwyn Blazers FC after being noticed by the 2002/2003 coach. I have always played one year up at a competitive level. Even though, it is a small community non-for-profit club, we've always competed at the highest-level soccer. We played in the NISL Premier 1 from 2013-2019. After many years of playing with Berwyn Blazers FC, I decided to search for more opportunities and guidance for college. I went to try out for Chicago Fire Juniors City in the Fall of 2019. I did my research; it was my goal and determination to get a spot on their 2003 Premier team. I knew playing with this team would give me the exposure I needed for college. They offered me a spot on their Premier team, and I accepted their offer. The positions I play are right/left back but I can play any position on defense.

I am a very hard working, competitive person academically and athletically. I will bring hard work and dedication to the team. I never give up on and off the field and leave nothing of myself at the end of a game. I don't hope for success, I work for it.
